Four pages to follow if you want to cheer up your Facebook feed

Everyday is a fresh start,

Not sure if I have ever mentioned this, I don’t like to make a big thing about it, but I love lists! Apparently, the internet does too, and it often recommends chucking in the odd ‘listicle’ article to your blog now and then. So, I thought I could combine all of my favourite things: lists, researching, sharing knowledge, and – in today’s case- social media

I have a ‘presence’ on most of the platforms: Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram – still trying to get my head around Tumblr, but loving the nice pictures.

On one of them, I have tried to cultivate a bastion of civility and calm. You will find this zen-like palace on my Facebook page. I have purposely made a point of only following pages and groups that will help me curate a page which are inspiring and hopeful.

If you are fed up of “friends” bragging about their great lives, or offensive jokes and memes that appear on your wall, why not consider padding your feed with daily happiness by following these people or groups:

Thoughtful and Inspiring

Much of my wall is me sharing quotes and ideas I find on on a combination of sites.
Contemplative Monk is a site that aims to promote and grow a community of encouragement. The accompanying website appears to be more spiritual in content, with a Christian ethos, but the idea of focusing on peace, and taking time to relax, is one that can transcend religion.

Finding Joy

As Rachel says in her mission statement for the page: “Finding Joy isn’t just a phrase, but a lifestyle.”
The group page shares a combination of inspiring stories, pictures and quotes. Many of the stories will resonate with families, particularly mothers of teenagers, and I often find myself sharing the sage advice I receive from the site.

Tiny Buddha

I love this page. Happy things just pop up on my wall when I need them – it’s almost a bit scary!
The page is run by Lori Deschene, the author of the Tiny Buddha journal collection, and has an accompanying website.

As well as a range of books and resources, you will find posts promoting mindfulness, simplicity and minimalism. There is also a community forum, and an opportunity to sign up for emails if your inbox also needs a bit of a boost.

Marc and Angel Hack Life

Marc and Angel are professional life coaches, as well as award-winning authors. Their blog offers courses and coaching, with tips for living a better life.

They focus on identifying the limiting beliefs we build up about ourselves and provide the tools to help us transform them. By helping people shift their perspectives and by taking action, they hope to help people become their ‘happiest selves’
