Motivating podcasts – inspiration directly to your ears

One of the problems I have discovered with my ‘listening to Youtube videos’ while working, is that I am often tempted to just watch them, or at least sneak a peek at any of the photos Mr Ballen happens to be sharing. (Seriously, check him out. Fantastic storyteller)

There are no such downsides with podcasts! In fact, a lack of visual diversion is just one of the many reasons why you should listen to these motivating podcasts.

There are so many benefits to listening to podcasts. The sheer amount available means there will always be something of interest to you to listen to. They are free, generally up-to-date and quicker than reading a book on the subject. The fact that you can multitask while listening is also a bonus (Although I have made my feelings on multi-tasking very clear!)

If you are here at the Pad there are probably certain subjects you will be interested in, so I have taken the liberty of selecting 5 to get you started. Where you go on your motivating podcast journey after that is up to you.

On Gratitude, Vulnerability and Courage

“Being courageous is more important to me, as a value, than succeeding.”
I have already recommended researcher, teacher and storyteller – Brene Brown – and shared her internationally renowned TED talk on vulnerability in a post on TED talks you should really watch.

This hour-long podcast of Brene comes from the Good Life Project on the subject of “Gratitude, Vulnerability and Courage”

Breaking Limiting Beliefs

I found Will Polston online after filling in a questionnaire. Soon after, I joined his Facebook group and had a chance to join him on a Zoom call where we talked about the lies we tell ourselves and how they impact our growth.

He is an entrepreneur and business strategist, as well as one of the UK’s leading performance coaches. There are over 100 (and counting) podcasts available on his website

In this podcast, Will details the 7 main limiting beliefs people have as well as telling us how to create new empowering ones.

How to Store Everything You Need When You Just Don’t Have the Space

Kathi Lipp is an author of many books on the subject of decluttering, something I have been working on in my house.

Not only does she run the Clutter Free Academy on Facebook, but she also finds time to speak at conferences and host the Clutter Free Academy Podcast. , as well keep a blog.

In this episode she is joined by Tonya Kubo, where they discuss who you go about storing everything to need to keep when you only have a limited space.

Time Management

Chris Bailey is the author of 2 books on the subject of productivity and in this podcast with his wife and cohost, economist Ardyn Nordstrom.

Not only do the pair have very calming voices, but they link in their personal experiences to bring the topics they share to life.

While this podcast is about goal setting, they talk about a number of topics such as productivity, focus, procrastination, time management, gratitude, and disconnecting.

Magnificant Midlife

This is a great chat between Rachel Lankester and Deb Johnstone about midlife change and the opportunities that are available to women. They also discuss why it is important to strive for your best life and the importance of reflection.

Rachel is the founder of Magnificant Midlife – a subject that resonates with me- and in this podcast she is joined by mindset coach Deb Johnstone.
